About the Book Fulfillment Specialist Position with Otterpine

We’re searching for a book fulfillment specialist to join our team. This is a part-time position that has the potential to lead to a full-time position.

This is an in-person, part-time position with Otterpine, based at our warehouse in Woodfin/Weaverville. Shifts will be scheduled within the hours of 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday—you may not be expected to work the full window each day but shifts are a minimum of 4 hours.

Book Fulfillment Specialist Requirements

  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accurate packing, labeling, and shipping of book orders.
  • Organizational Skills: Manage inventory and maintain a well-organized warehouse environment. Be able to organize and come up with processes to manage peak periods of 500+ orders per day
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move packages, boxes, and books as needed. You must be able to lift cartons of books that are up to 45lb. 
  • Time Management: Efficiently process orders to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Computer Skills: Use software for tracking inventory and processing shipments, no how to communicate effectively in Slack, know your way around spreadsheets
  • Team Player: Collaborate with the remainder of the team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Great Customer Service Skills: Communicate effectively and empathetically with customers about order mistakes, shipping delays, and more
  • Reliable transportation to downtown Asheville office, to Asheville based warehouse, and for running occasional errands.

  • BONUS: Experience with setting up an managing an extensive inventory system
  • BONUS: Extensive experience with e-commerce platforms like Shopify and Squarespace
 

Pay, Schedule, and Benefits

Position Type: Part-Time (10 to 25 hours a week)
Pay Rate: Starting at $23.15/hour (Asheville Living Wage). Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Additional Details:

  • Initial Trial Period: 3-month contract
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Eligible after 6 months of employment
